Part 1 ----- An Amazing Transformation ----- Blue Fabric Re-Upholstered Button Armchair

Chair restoration where new upholstery is applied is one of the most satisfying and even dramatic visual transformations that we witness at Furniture-Art.

The chair above came in in a very sorry state, as you can see. It had been completely stripped of all the original upholstered finish and looked to the unknowing eye like a bag of old rags and stuffing making up what should have been the seat.

Fortunately, the customer had kept all the pieces of the 'mess' as it is all crucial to restoring the original button armchair look.

After a few hours of careful wood frame repair, skilled re-upholstery, stitching and sewing, the final ‘after’ effect you can see in the finished blue fabric upholstered armchair.

In furniture restoration you need to remember that the foundations of  beauty is often far from something beautiful itself, but without its presence  the more attractive finished appearance in not possible. This is definitely the case with what is initially underneath an ugly mess of a chair, but with the correct care and restoration skills, a very attractive deep-buttoned chair like this one can delight both our customers’ and ourselves.
